Senior Professional Services Engineer (Austin, Tx)

Inference is a fast growing SaaS tech startup helping enterprises automate their customer communications using advanced AI and speech interaction technology. Our Austin office is located in The Domain. (This role will require working from home temporarily due to COVID-19.) Our Government, Fortune 500 and small to large enterprise customers trust and rely on Inference Virtual Agents to automate transactions, support live agents and handle millions of conversations globally across phone, text and web.

Inference professional services engineers deliver cutting edge solutions to enterprises seeking to automate, modernise or improve customer experience through the use of virtual agent and artificial intelligence technologies.

Inference Solutions SaaS business depends on successful implementation of new customer services to commence ongoing subscription. Our self-service platform enables skilled partners and end-customers to build and manage their own services. However, for initial implementation, most customers, and especially our largest and most important opportunities turn to us for our professional services capability to ensure early success.

Responsibilities

Working directly with both the Inference sales organisation and customers you will

  • Lead end-to-end customer engagements through the entire solution delivery process.

  • Verify proposals and solutions from the sales organisation.

  • Provide detailed estimates based on input from the sales organisation.

  • Develop and analyse customer requirements with a focus on understanding the problems from the customer perspective.

  • Design, build and test Virtual Agents for customers with a focus on simple, reliable and powerful solutions that meet business requirements.

  • Write documentation and provide handover ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to process definition and tool improvements

  • Build and support internal and partner task libraries and showcases for conversation AI to support marketing and sales initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in professional services, consulting or customer facing roles

  • 5+ years of experience in software development life cycle within any analysis, development, quality assurance or other project role

  • 1+ years of experience building IVR or CX self-service applications

  • Experience with RESTful APIs, Google Dialogflow, Natural Language Speech Recognition, VoIP, contact center and telecommunications service providers

  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and deliver against strict deadlines

  • Experience in writing software in one or more languages, such as PHP, Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++ or similar.

  • Business analyst or test analyst experience.

  • Inclination to action
